Like all hurricanes, Laura in 2020 completely lacked discretion in terms of what she destroyed.
The Bridgepoint Apartments in West Lake, which is about five miles west of Lake Charles, were also demolished during the storm. We also referenced Laura in the b1 Bank project – another Redd Properties redevelopment project from that hurricane.
Encompassing 3.2 acres, Redd Properties cleared the wreckage of the West Lake apartments and has built something with strong demand and appeal – a 3,150-square-foot boat and RV storage facility.
Located at 920 Mulberry Street, Base Camp Boat and RV Storage features five secured metal buildings, each with 18 feet of clear height, 18 feet wide and 50 feet long. Each unit has a walk-through door and a 12-foot x 14-foot rollup door – ample space to fit a boat or recreational vehicle. Or other property owned by tenants, such as classic cars, muscle cars, you name it.
In addition to a fully secured fence, property amenities include electricity, running water, a bathroom, ice machine, air compressor and septic disposal system. Nearby, there’s a Popeyes, McDonalds, The Mulberry Hotel, the Chennault International Airport and of course, put-in ramps for the waterway leading to Calcasieu Lake and into the Gulf.
